Airport Engineering Fleet
The Brief
We were asked to convert four vans for a returning customer, with specific storage needs, comprehensive electrical requirements and a variety of other accessories.
The Design
We fitted an anti-slip phenolic floor and our EcoLiner, to protect the interior. To meet the customers’ storage needs, decided to fit metal racking with a range of bins, cases, open shelves and large drawers, alongside a workbench with vices. On the bulkhead, we added an extra storage unit with drawers accessible from the side door, as well as a personal locker.
In terms of electrics, the vans were equipped with a 1000w inverter, three leisure batteries, and multiple power sockets to ensure a reliable power supply for tools and equipment. Lighting was also a key consideration, so we installed a lightbar, beacon, interior LED lights, and external work lamps to maximise visibility in all conditions.
To complete the setup, we fitted a handwash basin with hot and cold water, a towel dispenser, fire extinguisher, hose reel holder, and traffic cone holders, ensuring the vans were fully equipped for safe, on-site operation.
The Result
The vehicles were completed on schedule and quickly deployed to airports across the UK. They met all of the customer's expectations, and we were pleased to receive excellent feedback on both the functionality and finish of the conversions.
